Welcome to my sick and twisted Clown Town!
I'd be lying if I said I had a purpose for this site. Honestly, it's shaping up to be a glorified newsletter lmaoooo
Flexbox Update // 2025-02-12
I've gone through and updated the site code to use flexboxes. Does it improve the user experience? No. Does this improve the site on mobile? Definitely not. Does it make the website more modern and impressive? Kinda.
January was pretty crazy so I didn't make too much content for the website outside of the css restructure. I started the year off with a lot of debt because of vet bills and a planned trip to Connecticut, so I should be at home playing the video games I already own, reading the books I already own, and learning stuff for the next couple of months. This should give me enough reason to make content for the site! Maybe make a design that is cohesive across everything!
I'm thinking I might have to move this homepage to the blog zone next update >:?
Dynasty Warriors Origins

Innovation has finally hit the series because this installment has the generals flirting with you relentlessly. They've taken advantage of having a self insert character with no allegiance, so every general and notable character is absolutely taken with your character. They want him to join their side. The method of choice? Flirting. Well it's a mix of flirting and heartfelt comments.

All the general flirting seems like a funny side affect of inserting an OC into Dynasty Warriors. The generals usually have pretty established relationships and don't really have to convince the player to work with them. Actually in most games you pick the faction to begin with, so you just dive into their stories head first. RIP to new players who don't know what they're getting into with Wu. Our player insert is actually engaging with the factions before an official recruitment so we get to basically speed date the core generals. I think this really helped sell me on the Shu faction. I never remember that I like the Shu faction until I'm in the thick of it with Wei, so meeting Guan Yu early helped make me consider them.

Unfortunately, only playing one character kinda sucks ass. The gameplay is cleaner than ever, but your only variety is weapons. The weapon variety is fine, and there is only one or two that I don't really like using. The player character isn't customizable, so you're just getting blue eyed stared by some goth with memory problems. Honestly they could of at least let us pick between playing masc or fem with little changes. I love the decadence of the outfits the generals get, so the player character outfit is kinda disappointing. He's just a generic wanderer for most of the game, and even the "upgraded" look feels like it should of just been his starter look.

I'm not going to lie, I don't mind games giving the self insert player character some personality. I would rather have a story that is complete and interesting. As a woman most games are not making the character for me to project onto, so it isn't as strong of a design choice as just making a character. This game went for blank slate, so it's a lot of people having conversations around you. That being said watching our boy blue eye stare at all the generals in response to their sweet comments is really funny.
I think after all those complaints I should highlight that the gameplay is really fun. There is a focus on parrying and timing battle arts to interrupt enemies, which the parrying is pretty in line with how Veilguard played so it feels like the parrying trend has been continuing in 2025. I haven't been noticing any crazy KO numbers, but I think they're balancing it by including large army battles for you to hack through. Which feels great because you charge along side one of the generals into the thick of it and start rip and tearing through the enemy. It feels like you're actually an officer in the battle and I think if they keep this gameplay the next game will be a top 3 game if they let you pick different officers.
P.S. With the way things have been recently, I have to say getting to know Dong Zhuo and his philosophy was uniquely unsettling. It's only highlighted by the fact that he no longer seems like a joke character and instead a real threat.
Self-Publishing?
I'm getting the impression that we're going to be seeing an increase in people putting information together and disseminating it in their communities. I'm just going to put these here in the mean time. :)

Dashcon 2??
Dashcon 2 is happening in Canada this year! The group handling it is new to running conventions, BUT they are trying to keep the scale and expectations in line with that fact. There are only 550 tickets being sold this year, so keep an eye out on February 22nd if you are interested. They're taking applications for vendors and panels right now too!
Note: They don't have many promo materials so I did snatch the image from their Tumblr. I'm not affiliated with the con! Just hyped even if I probably won't be going this year.
Latest Plush Bag

Little Softs is running a campaign to make more backpacks, so I took an opportunity to pick up a B grade from their first run. I am a griffon fan after all these years of neopets and dragon age, so Sesame was the clear choice. Luckily their greyscale, so they'll go with my clothing. I like the new crow, but they have blue elements so it doesn't work with me too well. Maybe if they add the skunk design I'll back the new project.
As a plush bag liker, I do have to highlight that the Little Softs back have remarkably large pockets. I'm able to fit in a Hobonichi Techo Weeks planner, bulky eyeglasses case, wallet, earbuds, playdate, and a variety of pens with room to spare.

Video Corner
I always have videos to share lol
the year of buying nothing
With the way America has been going recently, I'm thinking that one of the simplest options for people to gain some control back is to stop buying. Amanda discusses the idea of a no-buy year, self reflection of what it means for her, and some insight on the wider benefits. She approaches the subject really personably, so I'm sure any viewer will walk away with a few ideas on where they can cut spending.
Wallace and Gromit : A Completely Serious Deep Dive
I'm sorry but the creator Joseph Fisher is British. This video is still worth watching because it's clearly a video project that grew larger than the creator ever expected. Very charming dive into Wallace and Gromit from the shorts, development, and Joseph's thoughts. Worth a watch to bring some cheer into your day!
The Most Immersive Horror Game Ever Made
Another deep dive, but into an iconic horror game I bet you've never played. I don't think the game itself should be engaged with because it is too difficult for a shoestring story. Please allow Vote 4 Holt to do all the work for you. If there is something to know about Welcome to the Game 2, it is included in this deep dive. If you enjoy this video please check out the THE PAINSCREEK EXPERIMENT series on his channel too!
A Shot-by-Shot Analysis of Mimi Imfurst vs. Everyone
Mary Mahoney made this video and the world made sure to put it into my hands. Now I must hand it to you.
FIXING Funko's Awful FNAF Plushies - FNAF 1
Bizabizow (or Ty) is looking to move this year and she really deserves to be able to. My intro was the FNAF plushie fixing videos, but I've never been disappointed when I watch a live clip or video. She's going to be reading homestuck so please check her channel out in these trying times.
